Our Department

Westminster Fire Department (WFD) is an all-career, all-hazards municipal department comprised of 153 personnel. The department responds to more than 17,000 calls a year, with a typical response time of just under six minutes.

WFD has been awarded accredited status through the Commission on Fire Accreditation International, which demonstrates that WFD meets or exceeds industry best standard practices. The City of Westminster also achieved Class 1 status through the Insurances Services Office (ISO), which is the highest rating that a city/fire department can attain. WFD is proud to serve the community with both of these accrediations that only .04% of fire departments across the United States and Canada have achieved.
