Cooling Shelters During Heat Advisories
Heat advisories are monitored by the Westminster Fire Department. When “Major” or “Extreme” heat risk advisories are issued by the NWS-Boulder, the City will notify the community that recreation centers and libraries are available options for residents to keep cool and safe during normal business hours. The facilities listed below are generally open during the primary heating hours of the day, providing a cool location to get out of the heat with water and restrooms available.*
City Park Recreation Center (10455 N. Sheridan Blvd.)
Mon-Th: 6am-9pm, Fri: 6am-7pm, Sat & Sun: 7am-9pm
City Park Fitness Center (10475 Sheridan Blvd.)
Mon-Thurs: 5am-9pm, Fri: 5am-7pm, Sat & Sun: 7am-6pm
