Emergency Notification System:
Sign up for LookoutAlert
Westminster residents living in Jefferson or Adams counties can sign up for LookoutAlert to recieve information from local authorities during emergencies. You can choose to recieve your alert via text, email, and/or voice message. The system works in a similar manner to what is commonly referred to as "Reverse 911."
Landline phones are automatically included in the 911 database for these notifications and cannot be removed. Cell phone users, internet phone users, and VoIP (voice over IP) customers need to register their phone numbers to receive these emergency notifications from the Westminster Police and Fire Departments.
Note: If you were registered in the CodeRed system, your information should have been automatically transferred to LookoutAlert, but we recommend double checking in the system.
To register your cell phone or internet phone number, visit: LookoutAlert. If you do not have internet access or need assistance, please contact the Westminster Communications Center at 303-658-4360.

Emergency Preparedness
Disaster preparedness is a shared responsibility between the City, our residents, our business community and our service and faith-based organizations. The City's emergency management plans for extreme cold and heat include operating the shelters listed below. Community preparedness and resilience depend on everyone doing their part to be aware of potential hazards and being mentally prepared to quickly implement a shelter-in-place or evacuation plan. Being aware, building a kit and having a plan can help you, your family and our community be ready to respond to and recovery from any natural or human caused disaster.
